About Us
1 Year to Empowerment was created in 2014 by Dr. Samantha Scott, a clinical psychologist from Salisbury, Maryland. Dr. Scott had recently returned to Salisbury after completing graduate school. She quickly noticed a big need in the area for teenage girls to have a safe place to be themselves, meaningful mentorship, and carefully constructed activities designed to build self-esteem and intrinsic motivation to better themselves.
Our team is small but mighty and always able to meet the unique needs of each group of girls that go through our program.
